Payments Addendum
Draft of September 26, 2026
Terms for businesses that take payments and receive payouts through Center.
Draft for counsel review. Bracketed notes mark what counsel must complete before this version takes effect.
01What this covers
This addendum applies when your business turns on payments in Center, including online payments, booking deposits, invoices, memberships, in-person payments such as Tap to Pay, and payouts to your bank. It adds to the Terms of Service and binds your business once you accept it or turn payments on.
02Payment processing by Stripe
Payment processing services for businesses on Center are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the “Stripe Services Agreement”). By agreeing to this addendum or continuing to take payments through Center, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as it may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Center enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Center accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Center to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
03Fees
Center’s fees for payments are set out in the Fee Schedule or an Order Form. The fee that applies to a payment is shown to you at checkout, before the payment is created, and it is deducted before the payout. Each payment record and receipt keeps its fees and the Fee Schedule version they came from. Fees change only as described in Changes to fees.
04Charges to your customers
You set your prices and policies, show them before your customers pay, and give receipts. If you choose to pass a fee on to your customers, such as a credit card surcharge, Center applies it only where our rules allow and shows it to the customer before payment, and you are responsible for meeting the laws and card network rules that apply to it.
05Refunds, disputes and chargebacks
You are responsible for refunds under your own policy, and for disputes and chargebacks on your payments. What happens to Center’s fees when a payment is refunded is stated in the Fee Schedule. If a customer disputes a payment, you respond through Center with the information needed. If a dispute is lost, the disputed amount and any related fees are recovered from your balance or future payouts, or you repay them.
06Payouts
Stripe pays out your balance to the bank account you provide, on the schedule shown in Center. Stripe or Center may delay a payout, hold funds or require a reserve when needed to manage risk, disputes or legal requirements, and we tell you why when we can.
07Your responsibilities
- Keep your business, bank and tax information accurate and current.
- Use payments only for your own lawful goods and services, and not for a business Stripe restricts.
- Protect the payment information you handle, and use your customers’ information only for their transactions and as the law allows.
- Keep records and pay the taxes on your sales and income. Stripe or Center may send you tax forms as the law requires.
08Pausing and ending payments
We may pause or turn off payments for your business if we suspect fraud, a breach of this addendum or of the Stripe Services Agreement, or a risk to customers, and we tell you why when we can. You can turn payments off at any time. Obligations for payments made before then, including refunds, disputes and fees, continue.
